Creative H & I- Intertextual/Fetish

Intertextuality
Intertextuality is the shaping of texts meanings by other texts. It can include an author’s borrowing and transformation of a prior text or to a reader’s referencing of one text in reading another.

Fetishsised
A fetish is an object of unreasonably excessive attention or reverence such as a material object or a  that arouses sexual or abnormally obsessive preoccupation or attachment/ fixation. Through good branding and clever marketing Many products or brands in our modern world have been fetishsised, and are bought more for the brand, status symbol/fashionable connotations rather than there actual use to some one. for example people camping outside shops awaiting the release of the new version of the macbook or ipad. Apple is a good brand to talk about because most of its products have been fetishsised. For example there are hundreds of mp3 players on the market yet the ipod is the most desirable, even though it has the same functions and features as many others it is desired simply because its made by apple, this trend has followed with the iphone and most recently the ipad; because they are made by apple they are status symbols and thus are wanted over other products.
