College Logo

Found the presentation at Stroud easier than the filton one because I knew what to expect. Was hoping they would decide then and there or soon after, but apparently now they are putting it to an online vote, feel like an xfactor contestant.
Today I wrote my statement to go alongside my logo for the vote, which meant i couldnt present my magazine work which was fine because I'm not fully happy with the design yet as I've had limited time to work on it due to SGS work. Hoping to develop the ideas and start on final design.
The process of writing and statement etc was quite a learning curve for me and helped me to think about working professionally with clients etc.

SGS

Have been working hard on college logo presentation as the final pitch is in Stroud tomorrow, took some photos of filton main site during the week and placed my design onto these to see how it would work in the environment.

Again havent worked much on RE: magazine project because I really want to concentrate on sgs work.

College Logo

havent had the chance to blog for the past two weeks, got through to final stage after presenting to Filton college. I think the worst part was waiting outside before the pitch, I didnt realise i would be pitching to 16 people before I got there!
Stayed up half of the night finishing work but think the adrenaline got me through, really good opportunity!
RE: magazine project hasnt really moved forward at all, ploughing all of my effort into SGS project.

College Logo

Got through initial stage and am presenting my logo to head honchos in a few days, need to get some more work done. really excited about the prospect, going to watch a few episodes of dragons den to get my pitching skills up to scratch!

Just found out that we will actually get to pitch our ideas to the head honchos of the colleges, i'm really excited about this prospect. Never had the chance to pitch my ideas in a professional atmosphere and hope i do enough work to get through to this stage.
My initial ideas for the logo is based around the idea of the area coming together, i.e. the shape of the area made out of smaller forms coming together.
Have got a few designs at this point.

New college logo brief

Out of the blue we were hit with a new brief of designing the logo for our newly merged college which is combining with stroud college to form south gloucester and stroud college.
This should be interesting because we only have 2 weeks to do this and I'm not sure what i can come up with in such a limited time span.

John Heartfield

I visited the Tate Modern in London and came across an exhibition of Heartfields work, he was a communist living in germany before the 2nd world war. He created many pieces of anti propaganda against the nazi's. I liked his work as it was highlighting and parodying the nazi dictatorship and the images he managed to accomplish using such old equipment is a testiment to the man.
