The London 2012 logo has caused lots of controversy recently mostly because of the price paid to the design team behind it, even though most people feel their small children could of done a better job. I however am one of the minority and personally like the 2012 logo, although I will admit O was originally against it but its won me over. The basic idea behind it was to link to the graffiti and street art of london and make the logo fun and modern so not to isolate the younger generations from the games.

Although I can see where they are coming from with these ideas the main reason why I like the logo is simply that it is different, it doesn't follow all the connotations expected of an Olympic logo, its tried to be new and original and that's a brilliant way of looking at how to promote and hold the games especially when you think that we will never be able to match the last Beijing games in terms of money spent and grandeur. The logo I feel promotes the idea of approaching the games from a different angle and trying something new, and in terms of visual impact it is certainly memorable in its looks even if the impression it leaves with some people is of disgust!
