Creative H & I - Do artists have more responsibility than other member of society or addressing social issues?

I personally feel that creative practitioners do have more responsibility when addressing social issues as their work is usually broadcast to and seen by a larger audience so not only do they have a responsibility to address social issues but also to bring up topics that are relevant to the art world as well as society.
There are also other professions such as journalists and broadcasters that have these moral and social obligations as they also broadcast their views to a wide audience. I think that creative practitioners also need to sometimes think about whether they are raising awareness of a social issue or are using the controversy surrounding the issue to promote themselves and their work for their own interests.
